In TW the red rings meant that enemies have to go around it and anything inside it during an engament such as an Allied or another Enemy army would be involved the actual battle. An aura around each division like the red circle around Armies in Total War. Like how would you even form a frontline if HOI5 isn't provincial based? I think it would have to be unit-based. I admit I don't know how this would be implemented in the game. A dynamic frontline would mean parts of Stalingrad either belong to the Germans and Soviets. HOI can't simulate that because the Germans would have to FULLY control Stalingrad.

Several secret weapons require various levels of Rocketry research before they become available: Air-to-Surface Missile and Surface-to-Air Missile require Rocket Engine. Otherwise, their only other effects are access to several Secret Weapon technologies. On sea, units are either single capital ships or flotillas of small ships such as destroyers. The smallest independent land unit is the division, although brigades such as engineers, artillery, or armoured cars can be attached to these. The technologies in the field are experimental and allow construction of a Rocket Test Site. Hearts of Iron II is a grand strategy game.

It would also make sense for other scenarios like Stalingrad where much of the city was under German control but there still was resistance inside plus Soviet reinforcements arriving through the Volga and meeting German defenses in the river bank. Rocketry is an Industrial technology field. I'm pretty sure enough attackers would be able to hold and occupy enough percentage of the island. But in HOI as soon as the enemy fleet comes in, all your invading force is destroyed or forced to flee in transports. The invading units should be owning territory on the island. I also think this system would help in the Pacific/naval invasions because I always found them to be flawed in HOI. Even if you are close to entering the next province, you can Stop them or change directions and they would instantly start from the center again. Same with moving units to different provinces. But as soon as you halt the attack, your units instantly are back at the center of their province. I always found it rather weird that lets say you're attacking Stalingrad and the arrows even show that you're getting closer and closer inside the province as the arrow fills up. I think I'll start with one for now and it's one of the biggest change I want to see from HOI5 is a 'Dynamic Frontline'. Before you say: "FIX HOI4 FIRST!!!!l" This is just a fun wishlist and for things that will likely NOT appear in HOI4.
